Best Pro XP Accessories by Category

The Pro XP is now in its sixth model year (2020-2026) and the aftermarket catalog has matured into clear category leaders. Here’s the tier breakdown across the 11 categories where Pro XP buyers spend the most. Tap any category to jump to its picks — each section ends with a pre-filtered link to every fitment we carry for the Pro XP in that category.

Bumpers

First mod. Front bumper protects the radiator and grille from rock strikes; rear bumper adds departure-angle protection and tow-loop strength. DRT owns this category on the Pro XP because they design chassis-specific (no universal-fit compromise) and the welds hold up under repeat impacts. Bosman is the heavier-wall alternative for hard-rock terrain.

Doors

OEM Pro XP doors are tube-frame with a thin panel insert — they let dust and rocks through. Aftermarket aluminum doors fill the full opening, latch positively, and pair with a rear windshield to create a sealed dust strategy. The Pro XP runs a 925cc ProStar Turbo — airflow upgrades have a defined sequence: filter first, then charge tubes / J-tube, then BOV. The Pro XP build order, prioritized.

Five years of installed base means there’s a defined “right way” to upgrade a Pro XP. Most owners who skip this order end up redoing work. Here’s the sequence we’d follow if we were building a new Pro XP from the dealer floor.

01

Protection First

Front winch bumper, rear bumper, fender flares, skid plate. Protect the chassis before you add value to anything else.

Why: One rock strike to a $0 bumper-less Pro XP can total a radiator. Bumper + skid plate is mandatory before back-country use.
02

Doors + Windshield

Aluminum doors, vented glass windshield, rear window. Dust management is a system, not a single part.

Why: Front-windshield-only setups blow dust right past the cab from the rear-low-pressure zone. Pair both ends.
03

Suspension Tune

Shock Therapy dual-rate springs first, limit strap kit second, sway bar kit third. The shocks themselves stay stock.

Why: OEM Fox shocks are good hardware with bad spring rates. Springs cure 80% of the soft-ride complaint without new shock bodies.
04

Comms + Audio

Rugged Radios complete comm kit + Rockford Fosgate Stage 5. These two pair perfectly because both wire to the chassis-specific dash mount.

Why: Comms is the most-cited “wish I’d done it sooner” mod by Pro XP owners on RZR Forums. Group-ride safety upgrade.
05

Power Layer

S&B filter first ($75), RPM BOV second ($99.95), RPM J-tube + charge tube third, slip-on exhaust fourth. Tune last.

Why: Tune before intake = wasted custom map. Intake before tune = airflow without combustion adjustment. Order matters.
06

Drivetrain Reinforce

SuperATV Rhino 2.0 axles front + rear. The OEM axles snap under bigger tires + tuned-up boost. Replace before they fail on a $1,000 transmission install.

Why: Stock axles are the weak link once you add boost and tire size. Replace them on your terms, not on the trail.
07

Storage + Personalization

DRT trunk enclosure, door bags, tire carrier. Final layer once the mechanical build is dialed.

Why: Personalization on top of a finished platform sticks; personalization first usually gets undone.
08

Verify Fitment

Every product on this page is verified Pro XP-fit. Year ranges differ — always check the listing for 2020-2024 vs 2025+ compatibility before ordering.

Why: 2025+ Pro XP refresh kept the same chassis cab dimensions but updated a few mounting points. Verify in product description.

Pro XP not your machine?

Many Pro XP parts cross-fit the Pro R, Turbo R, and Pro S. If you’re cross-shopping the modern Polaris RZR family, jump straight to the platform you’re running — each vehicle hub has the full BC catalog pre-filtered to your chassis.

What Pro XP buyers actually ask.

Pulled from RZR Forums “must-have mods” threads, Reddit r/RZR, Google People Also Ask, and our customer service tickets. If you have a question that’s not here, our team is in chat at the bottom of the page.

What is the Polaris RZR Pro XP bolt pattern?

The Pro XP runs the Polaris-standard 4x156 bolt pattern with M12x1.5 lug nuts and a 96mm hub bore. This is the same pattern used on the Turbo R, Pro S, XP Turbo, XP 1000, and Ranger XP 1000 — meaning aftermarket wheels are widely available across the Polaris RZR sport chassis family. The 5x114.3 outlier pattern is reserved for the Pro R and the new Xpedition / Ranger XD architecture; it does NOT fit the Pro XP. Verify the hub bore (96mm Polaris) and wheel offset against your build before ordering.

How much horsepower does the Polaris RZR Pro XP have?

The 2020-2026 Polaris RZR Pro XP is rated at 181 hp from the Polaris ProStar Turbo 925cc parallel-twin DOHC 4-stroke engine. That number is published on polaris.com and represents peak crank power. Aftermarket intake + tune packages from RPM and Trinity can add another 20-40 hp depending on fuel grade, altitude, and tune state — verify your tune setup against the tuner’s published dyno data, not training-data recall.

What is the difference between the Pro XP and the Turbo R?

The Pro XP and Turbo R share the same ProStar Turbo 925cc parallel-twin engine architecture, but the Turbo R steps up to a 74″ width (vs Pro XP’s 64″) and runs FOX 3.0 Live Valve X2 Internal Bypass shocks at all four corners. Wheelbase is the same on both at 96″. The Pro XP is the workhorse sport platform; the Turbo R is the wider, more sophisticated suspension version. Most aftermarket parts (bumpers, doors, audio, exhaust, intake, comms) cross-fit between the two because the cab is shared. Suspension parts are platform-specific.

Are Pro XP and Pro R accessories interchangeable?

Many are, especially in body and audio categories. Doors, windshields, audio kits, comm kits, and trunk enclosures cross-fit the Pro XP / Pro R / Turbo R chassis family because the cab dimensions and accessory pickup points are shared. However: bumpers, fender kits, suspension parts, axles, and wheels are NOT cross-compatible because the Pro R runs a wider chassis with a different bolt pattern (5x114.3 vs Pro XP’s 4x156). Always verify the year range and chassis in the product listing.

What is the best first mod for a Pro XP?

A grille-protecting front winch bumper. The DRT Pro XP Front Winch Bumper ($368) is the canonical Pro XP first mod because it protects the radiator and grille from rock strikes on the first off-road outing. Pro XP buyers who skip this step often total a radiator within the first 1,000 miles. After the bumper: doors + windshield, then suspension springs (Shock Therapy), then comms + audio (Rugged Radios + Rockford), then the power layer.

Why do Pro XP owners replace the stock springs?

The OEM Pro XP spring rates are tuned for a wide range of riders, which means they ride too soft for most owners. Slow chop on the trail feels harsh; bigger hits bottom the shock. The Shock Therapy Dual Rate Spring Kit ($949.95) replaces the linear OEM springs with engineered dual-rate springs that cure 80% of the soft-ride complaint without buying new shock bodies. This is the most-recommended Pro XP suspension upgrade by far on RZR Forums.

What suspension travel does the Pro XP have?

The Pro XP has 17″ of front travel and 20″ of rear travel per Polaris published specs. Both ends run Fox 2.5 shocks (or Fox 2.5 Dynamix on Dynamix-equipped trims) with independent double-A-arm front suspension and trailing-arm rear. Ground clearance is 14.5″ and the chassis sits on 30x10-14 tires from the dealer. Wheelbase is 96″.

Do I need a tune before adding exhaust to my Pro XP?

A slip-on muffler (like the RPM E-Valve Captains Choice $734.95) does NOT require a tune on a stock Pro XP — the OEM ECU handles the slight airflow change. A full 3″ cat-bypass exhaust (RPM Full 3″ $889.95) DOES benefit from a tune because it changes both flow and back-pressure significantly. Order: BOV first, intake second, slip-on exhaust third, tune fourth, full exhaust fifth. Skipping the tune step on a fully-tuned-airflow setup leaves 15-25 hp on the table.

Will aftermarket exhaust void my Polaris warranty?

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prevents Polaris from voiding the entire warranty just because you installed an aftermarket part. However, the dealer CAN deny warranty coverage on a specific failure if they document that the aftermarket part directly caused the failure. Consult your dealer before stacking intake + tune + exhaust on a warrantied machine. If you ride in a regulated land-use area (US Forest Service, BLM, California State OHV Parks), the cat-bypass and catless exhaust options on this page are off-road / closed-course only — you’ll need a USFS-approved spark arrestor.

How do I find Pro XP parts that fit my specific year?

Use the pre-filtered category links at the bottom of each section on this page. They all link to /vehicle/polaris/rzr/pro-xp/ with a category filter applied, which returns only products verified to fit the Pro XP. The Pro XP has been in production from 2020 through current model year; most aftermarket parts cover the full 2020+ range. The 2025+ model year refresh kept the same chassis dimensions but updated a few mounting points — always verify the year range in the product listing before ordering.
