A Pre-Run
Turned Catastrophic.

The Road 2 Recovery Foundation has launched a dedicated fundraising effort to support off-road racers Janey Lee and Kylie Walton following a devastating vehicle fire during a pre-run ahead of the San Felipe 250.

The pre-run took a violent turn when fire engulfed the cabin of their race vehicle in the Baja desert. What followed wasn’t panic. It was instinct.

Kylie didn’t think twice. She stayed in the burning car, fighting through the heat and flames to get Janey out. That split-second decision is the reason Janey made it out of the vehicle to drop and roll, putting the fire out on herself.

Both racers were airlifted to a specialized burn center in the United States, where they remain in stable condition. Their recovery will be long and demanding — extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing support over many months.

“Kylie’s actions saved Janey. That kind of instinct and commitment is what defines this community.”

The Road Back

Janey posted directly to her Instagram page sharing where she’s at in the recovery process and thanking the off-road community for the outpouring of support since the incident.

Recovery from Stage 2 and Stage 3 burns is measured in months, not weeks. Every donation, every comment, every share keeps the financial weight off them so they can focus on healing.

This Is Where
The Community Shows Up.

Off-road racing pushes limits. Moments like this are a reminder of how quickly things can change. What stands out here is the level of grit and selflessness shown in the worst possible conditions.

Kylie Walton didn’t hesitate. That kind of instinct and commitment is what defines this community.

Now it’s time to return that support. UTV Source is asking the off-road community, industry partners, and riders across the space to step in and help where possible. Every contribution — no matter the size — goes toward helping Janey and Kylie focus on recovery instead of the financial weight that follows an incident like this.

Situations like this hit close to home, and the response is always the same: riders backing riders.

Common
Questions.

Everything you might be wondering before you donate — how the money flows, what’s tax-deductible, and how to reach Janey and Kylie directly.

Where exactly does my donation go?

100% of every dollar donated through UTV Source is forwarded directly to Janey and Kylie’s Road 2 Recovery fundraiser on a monthly basis. UTV Source doesn’t take a cut, doesn’t deduct processing fees, doesn’t hold anything back. The full amount goes toward their medical care, rehabilitation, living expenses, and long-term recovery.

Are donations tax-deductible?

No. Donations made through the UTV Source donation page are not tax-deductible. This is a peer-to-peer fundraising effort, not a 501(c)(3) charitable contribution. If tax-deductibility matters for your situation, contact the Road 2 Recovery Foundation directly through their official donation page.

How does the 10% off thank-you code work?

After your donation is processed, you’ll receive an email with a 10% off code that can be applied to a future UTV Source order. The code is our way of saying thanks for stepping up — there’s no minimum donation to qualify, no pressure to use it, and no expiration trick. Use it whenever you next shop with us.

What is the Road 2 Recovery Foundation?

The Road 2 Recovery Foundation is a long-standing motorsports recovery foundation that mobilizes financial support for injured racers and their families. They’ve been the trusted vehicle for community-led recovery efforts in off-road, motocross, and adjacent racing communities for years. For Janey and Kylie, R2R is coordinating the official fundraising effort.

Can I donate directly to Road 2 Recovery instead?

Yes — absolutely. The direct Road 2 Recovery donation page for Janey and Kylie is at 4agc.com/landing/janeyandkylie. Donating direct or donating through UTV Source both land in the same place; pick whichever path feels right to you.

How can I help besides donating money?

Share this page. Follow Janey at @hello_janey and Kylie at @kyliee_marieee on Instagram, leave a comment, send a DM, repost their updates. Tag other riders in the comments. The off-road community is small enough that visibility translates directly into more donations.

Will there be ongoing updates on their recovery?

Yes. Janey and Kylie post personal updates on their Instagram pages, and UTV Source will continue updating the blog post at the source article. Bookmark this page — we’ll keep the timeline and update section current as their recovery progresses.
