Because A36 has a tendency to stretch under pressure, the transparent choice of Grade 50 ensures superior yield and tensile strength while simultaneously keeping the overall weight down.
What truly sets this five-piece kit apart is its unmatched engineering and unique plate system. It features three distinct welded assemblies that fully connect the front mounting points and upper rear mount, effectively securing the X3's "floating front end" to prevent chassis twisting and excessive stress on the A-arm bolts. A race plate replaces the front lower A-arm studs using in-house manufactured, form-threaded 4130 chromoly weld nuts, ensuring easy A-arm removal and future servicing. Additionally, metal reinforcements above the differential link the upper and lower pivot points to distribute energy during heavy pulling forces, ensuring the front frame section is securely integrated with the rest of the chassis.
Installing this comprehensive gusset kit takes approximately five hours and requires general mechanical skills, though detailed instructions with images are included to guide you through the process. While most of the X3's front suspension components will need to be removed for installation, the differential can conveniently remain in place unless specific factory hardware needs replacing.
