Because the factory setup relies on a nylock nut, CT Race Worx engineered a brilliant alternative to ensure a secure fit without needing a traditional locking nut. Their solution utilizes a Nord-Lock washer on the bolts, which maintains torque and prevents the hardware from backing out without requiring a threadlocker like Loctite. Furthermore, the weld nuts are machined in-house from 4130 chromoly using a form tap. The resulting thread strength and density far exceed those of a standard factory nut, guaranteeing reliable engagement through years of rigorous riding.
Installation is a straightforward process, as the kit includes a template to properly align and drill the necessary holes for the plate's mounting hardware. The procedure involves drilling an initial 1/8-inch pilot hole, which is then opened up to a 1/4-inch or slightly larger diameter to accommodate the new setup. Everything required to complete this upgrade is securely supplied in the package, meaning you only need to provide your own drill bits to get started.
