Moose Offroad Universal 520 FB Drive Chain
Moose Offroad Universal 520 FB Drive Chain is a high‑strength, sealed O‑ring drive chain designed for heavy‑duty use on a wide range of 520‑pitch applications, including ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes. It’s built using Moose’s “FB” (Fine Blanking) process for laser‑accurate links and stronger alloy steel, making it one of the toughest sealed chains in their lineup.
The 520 FB chain comes in multiple link counts (e.g., 100, 110, 112, 116 links) so you can size it to fit many 520‑pitch drivetrains, which is why it’s often marketed as a “universal” drive chain for off‑road and utility vehicles. It uses a narrow, high‑tensile 520 pitch with O‑rings to keep dirt and moisture out of the pins and bushings, while still delivering high tensile strength (around 35.3 kN or roughly 8,000 lb breaking strength depending on specific part number).
Features
- 520 pitch sealed O‑ring drive chain for universal fitment on 520‑sprocket applications.
- Fine Blanking (FB) manufacturing for precisely cut, stronger alloy‑steel links and superior durability.
- Sealed O‑rings help retain internal lubrication and resist contamination from dirt, mud, and water.
- High tensile strength (roughly 35.3 kN / ~8,000 lb), among the highest in Moose’s sealed‑chain offering.
- Available in multiple link lengths (for example, 100, 110, 112, 116 links) for different vehicle setups.
- Typically supplied with a clip‑type master link ready for field installation.
- Recommended for applications 450cc and above
- Tight tolerances make the plate, pin, and bushing union accurate and strong
- Special sealing rings are chemically treated to gain strength and reduce friction
- Replacement connecting link available

Moose Offroad (About)
Our story starts in the mid 1980’s in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. The question in those days was how to prepare for an ever changing ride but for a core group of offroad riders it was a question of how, and out of their passion came a small offering of hard parts that would put Moose Offroad on the map. What they didn’t know was their desire to make the ride unforgettable would turn into a worldwide force of the finest collection of parts and gear for them and their machine.
In the early 1990’s, visionary Wayne Cornelius came along with distribution giant Parts Unlimited. Wayne knew Moose Offroad was good but he had a desire to make it great. His method to reach that goal was to consult the services of 8-time National Enduro Champion Dick Burleson. Utilizing Burleson’s experience the goal was to design gear that was comfortable to ride in all day rather than a 20 minute moto. That concept was launched in 1994 at the ISDE in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where a team of World-class riders emblazoned in new gear they served notice that Moose Racing has arrived on the scene.
As the 90’s continued, Moose Racing became the go to for hard parts but gear was the avenue to get brand recognition as it performed better than anything else in the market. This strategy blanketed races from the deserts in the west to the steamy woods of the GNCC with Moose Racing gear. It hasn’t been all offroad however, Moose Racing has been a staple of motocross as well. Moose Offroad is proud of its support for racers and riders at all levels from the bright lights of Supercross to the 8am races in the GNCC. Today, Moose Offroad continues the vision and strives to stay ahead of the pack, thirty plus years of blood, sweat, and gears has only made us more passionate to push on and keep evolving.
