Speedwerx Stage 2 Exterminator Kit

Our Exterminator Kits are designed to offer you the biggest bang for your buck! What we do is put together a group of components that we have found to work the best on each and every machine to get the best performance at a reasonable cost.  The Stage 2 Exterminator Kit for the Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail and Sport comes with our Speedwerx Stainless Steel Header, L2 Stainless Steel Slip-On Exhaust, Hypershift Clutch Kit and a Dynojet Power Commander V Fuel and Ignition Controller. This combination makes 10 hp over stock at the crankshaft (15% more!) and will outperform a stock machine from bottom to top!

Speedwerx Stainless Steel Exhaust Header- Our 304 stainless steel header is simply one of the nicest exhaust parts you will ever see. It features stepped diameter equal length primary tubes, and 2-into-1 merge collector to maximize overall power and performance. All joints are hand-prepped and sand rolled prior to the purge welding process, so you get great looking welds and the smoothest surface possible inside of the tubes. The header is designed to use the stock heat shield with minor trimming, so no header wrap is needed for a clean looking, low maintenance installation. This header is based off the stock 2016 Sport exhaust so it has a much larger diameter manifold to muffler joint, which allows us to minimize the restriction in this area and maximize the performance potential of these machines. The larger donut gasket 0412-872 and four springs 0612-668 required to install the kit on 14-16 Trail or 15 Sport models are included as well.

Speedwerx L2 Stainless Steel Slip-On Muffler- This L2 (Light n' Loud) Series Stainless Steel Slip-On Exhaust is designed to increase power, add acceleration and throttle response, lose weight, and give your machine a new deeper, throatier sound. With this exhaust, you are also eliminating the catalytic converter that is inside the OEM muffler- that means more air flow for better performance, and less heat retention for cooler engine compartment temps.

These mufflers have a brushed stainless steel shell with a welded inlet end cap, and a steel core with packing material and a built-in spark arrestor. They are 100% rebuildable with all inner parts being removable.They come standard with a stainless steel turn down, but aluminum endcaps with a natural finish or anodized black, red, blue, gold, or green are available as an upgrade as well. These are assembled as ordered due to these options, so please allow 2-3 business days before shipment. 

This muffler adds 5hp and sheds some weight as well- the stock muffler weighs in at 11lbs, and the L2 comes in at half that at just 5.5lbs!

Speedwerx Hypershift Clutch Kit- Our Hypershift Clutch Kit includes our 6-Series Machined Weights with an Adjustment Kit, a new Primary Spring, and a complete Secondary Clutch assembly with a multi-angle helix and our H5 Alloy Secondary Spring. This kit was designed and rigorously tested by the staff at Speedwerx to insure that it will increase your machine’s acceleration, backshift and all-around performance.

Dynojet Power Commander 6 Fuel and Ignition Controller-  The PC6 allows us to maximize performance by tuning the fuel injection and ignition timing parameters, as well as re-setting the rev limiter to a safe and reliable 8500 RPM which will give you more top end speed compared to the stock 7750 rpm rev limit. Our custom tuned map is specifically calibrated for our header and muffler combo to ensure maximum trouble free power using 91+ Octane premium pump fuel.

Options

Exhaust Seals, Heat Tape, O2 Sensor Bung, Secondary Spring Delete, Q6 Muffler

Exhaust Crush Seals: OEM Replacement Cylinder to Manifold Gaskets 0412-647 to fit all years/models. The original ones should be able to be reused in most cases, but new ones are very inexpensive.

Heat Tape: We highly recommend heat tape on the firewall area to reduce in-cab temps and to avoid any possibility of the plastic deforming or melting. We offer a nice aluminized heat barrier with a self adhesive backing for easy installation. Note: the 2017 recall updated firewall has much more clearance than the original 2014-2015 design or even the updated 2016 design, so you should see your dealer to get that installed if you have not already done so.

O2 Sensor Bung: Header comes standard with a bung for the stock O2 sensor, but we can weld in an additional bung for a Dynojet Autotune or AFR gauge if needed.

Secondary Spring Delete: If you already have one of our H5 Alloy Secondary Springs, you can choose to delete it from the kit.

Q6 Muffler: We can substitute the Q6 Muffler for the L2 Stainless Steel Muffler. This muffler is designed to increase power, add acceleration and throttle response, lose weight and be maintenance free all while being only slightly louder than stock. It's full stainless steel construction with no internal packing means it's built to last, and the built-in spark arrestor and a low decibel rating (94-95 dB vs stock at 90-91dB) means it's very trail-friendly too. With this exhaust, you are also eliminating the catalytic converter that is inside the OEM muffler- that means more air flow for better performance, and less heat retention for cooler engine compartment temps. Update: All Q6 mufflers now come standard with turndown outlets to clear accessory bumpers.

As you can see, a machine equipped with the Stage 2 Exterminator Kit immediately begins pulling away from the stock machine- it's over 1/4 second faster to 30mph and an incredible 3.39 seconds faster to 60mph, with an overall top speed more than 5 mph faster!

 

Dyno Testing Info:

 

The dyno sheet shows the stock 14-18 Trail/15 Sport baseline vs. a stock 16-17 Sport vs. one equipped with our new Stainless Steel Header/Slip-On Muffler/PCV combo. The first thing that stands out is Arctic Cat really did their homework on the 16 Sport, as it put up numbers well beyond the 5% gain they have stated! The new exhaust manifold and muffler with the larger inlet help it to perform much better than previous models even though the engine itself is unchanged. Beyond the new exhaust, they have also revised the ECU tune and bumped the rev limiter up to 8000 RPM as compared to 7750 on the 14-18 Trail and 15 Sport, and that enables the peak power to continue to climb to the rev limit. The stock muffler has a catalytic converter built-in like the previous models and is quite heavy at 17lbs, but it shocked us on how well it actually performs- unlike the previous models where our Slip-On and PCV combo netted a nice gain, there was actually little or no gains to be had installing them on a 16-17 Sport. That’s where our new Stainless Steel Exhaust Header comes into play- it’s based off the stock 16+ Sport with the bigger muffler inlet, so you guys with the 14-18 Trails or 15 & 18 Sports can upgrade the entire system to take the performance beyond what the excellent factory tuning on the 16-17 Sport can do. Another big part of the equation is the new Dynojet PCV Fuel and Ignition Controller mentioned earlier- not only does it allow us to maximize the performance by tuning the fuel injection and ignition timing parameters, the REV X-tend feature allows us to reset the rev limiter to a safe and reliable 8500 RPM which will give you more top end speed compared to the stock 7750 RPM or even the 16+ Sport 8000 RPM rev limit. The net result is the 14-18 Trail and 15 Sport gains a solid 9.5-10hp with the full exhaust and PCV and loses .2-3.3lbs depending on which muffler you choose, and it keeps pulling on top well beyond where the stock setup noses over before hitting the rev limiter. Those of you with 16-17 Sports won’t see as big of a gain since you already have the “good” factory setup, but you can still get the benefits of the full exhaust and the PCV with the extended rev limit- our setup simply makes better power across the board, 5hp or more at some points in the RPM range, plus you can shed 6.25-9.35lbs depending on your choice of mufflers.
