Description

SuperATV Yamaha Viking 6" Portal Gear Lift (PGH6-2-39)

Gen 3 Portals Are Geared for All

We don’t make assumptions about the way you ride because we know that off-roading is different for everyone. That’s why we don’t build “one size fits all” portals. When you get SuperATV’s GDP 6” Portal Gear Lift for your Yamaha Viking, you get to pick your gear reduction (30% or 45%) and your housings (cast or billet aluminum). Whatever you choose, there’s no better way to get some more clearance under you while also changing your gear ratio.

GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals

We’ve been designing and testing portal gear lifts since the beginning, so we know exactly what you need to take your ride to the next level. Feeling skeptical? Head to the nearest ride park and take a look around. More riders are running SuperATV’s GDP portals than anything else on the market, and there’s a reason for that—we’re the experts.

Perfect for Mud

You haven’t experienced mud until you’ve tackled it with a portal gear lift. The extra six inches of clearance give you room for massive mud tires and keep you from getting swamped. And a gear reduction will have you cutting through the thickest, most challenging mud bogs and making it look easy.

A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain

One of the many reasons we love portal gear lifts is the fact that the gear reduction is built right into the hub. That puts less stress on your drivetrain, which means your machine’s most vital parts can do their job without acquiring premature wear. You’ll ride easy knowing that your prop shaft, axles, diff, and transmission are in good hands.

Learn more about how tire size and gear reduction can unleash your machine’s potential.

Unmatched Gear Material

A portal gear lift is only as good as the gears inside, which is why we use the most premium, top-of-the-line gears out there. They’re made with 9310 alloy steel and are precision ground to ensure perfect mating and quiet performance, ride after ride.

Stronger Housings by Design

We’ve been researching and designing portal housings for years, so we know what it takes to make or break them. Whether you choose our USA-made, CNC-machined billet aluminum housings or you decide to go with cast aluminum, you’re getting portal boxes that are second to none.

  • The housings are reinforced in all the right places
  • They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
  • There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them

The Strongest Portal Backing Plates You Can Get

The portal backing plates are made with an advanced steel alloy that’s specialized for ultra high-force applications. They’re 5/16” thick and made from a metal even stronger than chromoly, so if you’re wondering whether these backing plates can put up with your level of trail abuse, the answer is “heck yes.”

Advanced Gaskets and Seals

Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:

  • Advanced Thermo-Tork® gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
  • A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
  • 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks

Bearings That Rock

Just like every other piece of GDP portals, our bearings are second to none. We use roller bearings to hold our idler gear in place because we don’t compromise when it comes to strength. Our output bearing is a double-angular contact bearing that can handle huge loads in any direction without wearing down. No matter how hard you ride, these bearings are up for the challenge.

Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors
The precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors are designed to give you the braking power you need, exactly when you need it. And to make your life easier, we make them with 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs, allowing you to run nearly any side-by-side wheel there is. We also invented the tapered output shaft that attaches to the hubs. It provides a more secure lock that keeps your hubs from wobbling or wearing over time.
