Two Years, a Whole Lot of Miles, and One Trailer That Never Quit
Two years ago we hitched up an Aluma trailer, pointed the truck at the horizon, and haven't turned back. It's our official trailer, and it has hauled our builds and our partners' rigs from Utah to Ocotillo and all over Southern California. Two seasons, a stupid number of miles, zero drama. Here's the story, the specs, and why we are not switching.
So what's the deal with UTV Source and Aluma?

Simple: Aluma is our official trailer, and this year makes two. We shook hands over the stuff that actually matters to us, gear that is rugged, service that does not leave you hanging, and a genuine love of the offroad life. Aluma builds its trailers out of lightweight aluminum right here in the USA, which means no rust, no babying it, and it tows like a dream even when we have got a wide-body strapped down on top.
Okay, but where has this thing actually been?
Everywhere. If we were going, the Aluma was going. It has been our backbone for the past two years, hauling builds out to our brand partners and the manufacturers we collaborate with, then turning around and dragging our rigs to the gnarliest UTV and SxS events in the country. Utah. Ocotillo. Every dusty corner of SoCal. Wherever the work and the riding took us, the trailer just showed up and did its job.
Don't just take it from the marketing brain around here. Take it from the boss.
"When we roll out, we know our Aluma trailer will get our UTVs to our offroad adventure safely and securely," said Jason Snyder, UTV Source CEO. "Aluma Trailers tow like no other and our 28-foot wide-body tandem is loaded with features including drive-over fenders, rear stabilizer jacks, storage box and plenty of tie-down anchor points. It's the perfect trailer for our UTVs, and that's why Aluma is the official trailer of UTV Source."

What are we even towing this with, and what's on it?
Our 28-foot Aluma heavy wide-body tandem axle, behind a truck that earns its diesel. Here is what makes the trailer the workhorse it is:
| Spec | The good stuff |
|---|---|
| Model type | 28' heavy wide-body tandem axle |
| GVWR | 9,990 lb |
| Construction | All-aluminum, rust-free, made in USA |
| Brakes | Electric |
| Loading | Drive-over fenders, drive-on ramp |
| The extras we love | Rear stabilizer jacks, storage box, tie-down anchors everywhere, spare tire carrier |
Translation: we can back a wide Super Villain up on it, strap it down in about a minute, and not think about it again until we are unloading in the dirt.
Where all did it go this year?

The highlight reel: Sand Sports Super Show in Costa Mesa, Camp RZR out at Glamis, and Ocotillo Wells, plus a whole lot of rides through Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona. UTV Takeover at Sand Hollow, UT is next up on the calendar, and yeah, the Aluma is already earning its spot in the driveway for that one.
What's next for Aluma?
Big things. In January 2026, Aluma got acquired by Novae, one of the biggest trailer manufacturers in North America. Good news for us and every Aluma owner: CEO Mike Lloyd and the same crew are still running the show out of Bancroft, IA.
"Joining forces with Novae is a strategic milestone for our company and for the dealers who have trusted us for so many years," said Mike Lloyd, CEO of Aluma Trailers since 2000. "Aluma and Novae share the same values: to continually grow our people and maintain ease of doing business for our partners. We're customer-centric, quality-minded companies, which makes this a natural fit."
Frequently asked questions
What is the official trailer of UTV Source?
Aluma Trailers. We run a 28-foot Aluma all-aluminum heavy wide-body tandem axle.
Are Aluma Trailers made in the USA?
Yep. Built and assembled in the USA with lightweight aluminum, so they do not rust.
What size trailer do I need for my UTV?

A single UTV usually fits fine on a 20 to 24 footer, but if you are running a wide-body like a Villain or a Pro R, do yourself a favor and get a wide-body deck. We went 28-foot tandem for the room, the tie-down points, and the storage.
