A RZR Pro R Crafted for Comfort and Capability

From Sand Hollow to Glamis, Pro Armor’s 2022 Polaris RZR Pro R rolls in safety and comfort. With an extensive line of products targeting performance and comfort, Pro Armor has turned a 2022 RZR Pro R into a machine capable of comfortably tackling anything you can throw at it.

Having made a fresh debut in the 2022 model year, the Pro R comes from the factory with an incredible 225 horsepower 2-liter engine. Pair that with an impressive 16” of ground clearance, and an empty weight of roughly 2000 lbs. and this factory-built rocket is ready to go. The Pro R represents a great step in Polaris’s lineup, with ample power on tap and a rock-solid chassis, however Pro Armor saw room for improvement, and we’re sure glad they did.

While the Pro R is already an impressive starting point for any build and by all accounts is a comfortable and capable vehicle, it might be hard for one to envision making meaningful improvements to something that comes from the factory so powerful and well-set up. However, there is always improvement to chase in life, and Pro Armor has just the parts for that.

Starting the build from the bottom up, Pro Armor Halo 10 true bead lock wheels wrapped in 35x10x16 Pro Armor Crawler XG tires provide all the grip and traction you could ever need, with the assurance of bead lock capabilities. The stylish 10 Spoke wheels sport a 1670lb load rating and tip the scales at a cool 18.5 lbs. In addition, the wheel and tire setup look great on the Pro R; a gorgeous lip around the bead locks on the wheels is complemented by the aggressive tread.

To compliment the shiny new shoes, Pro Armor equipped an HCR Suspension High Clearance kit. Even though the factory Pro R comes with impressive ground clearance, adding 3” of clearance to the front and a cool 2” in the rear doesn’t hurt one bit. The HCR High Clearance kit is a noted improvement over the factory suspension in the ride too, so you certainly aren’t sacrificing comfort or performance with the added clearance either.

Continuing the mods, Pro Armor equipped their front and rear bumpers and a custom front grill for an aggressive and functional look for this Pro R. Mounted on the front bumper are 2 Pro Armor Light Cubes with amber lenses, which in addition to the 33” single row light bar on the roof will keep you going any time of the day or night. In addition to much appreciated versatility in the dark, the lights really look outstanding nestled into the bumper and grill.

With so much work and dedication to performance on an already outstanding platform, it’s no wonder that this thing can RIP through anything from dust to dunes. Once the Pro R was mechanically ready for the toughest terrain, Pro Armor moved on to other aspects of the vehicle to improve.

For the interior, the Pro Armor Full door replacements and armored door backs maintain the aggressive and stylish look of the Pro R without sacrificing weight or strength. And Pro Armor Mirrors and fold-down sun visors, provide assurance of visibility without too much eye strain. Not to mention the mirrors and sun visors just look darn good. With a nice level of tint to the visors, glare shouldn’t be an issue for driver or passenger. As for the new mirrors, the tough high-grade polymer and aluminum bezel construction make them more than capable of taking a few blows from trees and rocks. It’s even more impressive that they still manage to remain lightweight and attractive with these rugged materials.

As for what other comforts you can expect from the cockpit of the Pro Armor RZR Pro R, the Pro Armor GForce suspension seats provide great support without sacrificing comfort. Wide bolsters keep you planted in the seat just like you would want. With detachable cushions and a drain, cleaning out the interior after a fun adventure in the dirt or mud shouldn’t be too much of a hassle either. Also keeping you in the GForce seats are Pro Armor 3” harnesses with a latch and link buckle. Between the harnesses and seat, you should have plenty of confidence in your next adventure, while also enjoying it in comfort.

Climbing inside the Pro Armor RZR Pro R, you’ll also notice Pro Armor’s cab-only roll cage, further protecting the occupants from any hazards. The cage also has a lower, more aggressive profile than the factory setup, when combined with the Pro Armor pocket roof lends itself to a sturdy, sleek look while adding to the overall rigidity of the chassis.

Finishing up the overall build on this 2022 RZR Pro R is a custom vinyl wrap printed and designed by pro align wraps. With a striking orange on blue livery, on an already aggressive looking build, this Pro R looks as if it doesn’t want to be seen at anything other than a breakneck pace. Making this one of Pro Armor’s premiere marketing vehicles, the fit and finish of the parts combined with the vinyl looks fantastic. The overall look of the vehicle is sure to turn heads, be it at a show or on the trail.

As for driving, Pro Armor certainly did a great job enhancing all the aspects that the Pro R already excels in. The HCR arms add plenty of clearance to the ground, and really make the existing power of the 2.0 Liter engine from Polaris feel unstoppable. The added comfort in the cabin just makes it such an easy vehicle to want to be in. The combination of power and clearance and suspension travel provides so much confidence when driving that this Pro R just feels unstoppable, and ready for any desert adventure you can throw at it.

It’s hard to see wanting anything more out of a side by side. Pro Armor added so much drivability and comfort to an already outstanding platform, it feels like a vehicle just begging to be driven! Once you get going the rigidity from the roll cage and improved suspension clearance gives you confidence to drive it hard. This RZR is ready to tear up any terrain you could imagine and do it all in style and comfort, it can tackle desert, rock, or trail with no problem. Pro Armor saw the Pro R as a starting point, rather than an end all be all, and took it up another level.
