Kawasaki 2027 Side x Side Lineup: TERYX KRX 1000 TR & MULE PRO

Kawasaki 2027 Side x Side Lineup: TERYX KRX 1000 TR & MULE PRO

Kawasaki's 2027 Side x Side Lineup: New TERYX KRX 1000 TR Models and the Full MULE PRO Range

Two trail-built sport machines join the KRX family, and the MULE PRO keeps doing the heavy lifting

Kawasaki dropped its 2027 side x side notes, and there is plenty for UTV Source riders to dig into. The headline is the addition of two purpose-built trail machines, the TERYX KRX 1000 TR and the TERYX KRX4 1000 TR, both narrowed down for tight wooded riding. On the work and utility side, the entire MULE PRO range returns with gas, diesel, and mid-size options across a wide price spread. Here is the breakdown.

New for 2027: TERYX KRX 1000 TR & KRX4 1000 TR

The big news this year is the TR. Built for tight 64-inch forest trails, the TERYX KRX 1000 TR (two seat) and TERYX KRX4 1000 TR (four seat) take the proven KRX platform and slim it down so it fits where the standard models would not. Kawasaki narrowed the overall width from 68.1 inches on the standard KRX to 63.8 inches on the TR versions, which makes a real difference threading through dense timber.

These are more than just skinnier KRXs though. To pull off the narrower stance without giving up ground clearance, Kawasaki ran shorter A-arms up front with more upright mounting angles, plus shorter upper and lower control arms in the rear. The trailing arms keep the same dimensions and mounting points as the standard models, so durability stays where it should be. Long wheel travel sticks around too, 17 inches up front and 18 inches in the rear, riding on 31-inch Maxxis Carnivore tires wrapped on 15-inch alloy wheels.

Suspension tuning got a comfort focus for the low to mid-speed range that trail riding lives in. Softer damping soaks up the small, frequent hits from roots, packed dirt, and loose gravel, while the rear adds compression damping to keep things stable when the trail opens up, and speeds climb. Same Showa 2.5 piggyback shocks as the standard KRX, just retuned for the woods. Power comes from the familiar 999cc parallel-twin paired with the CVT and centrifugal clutch, with strong low-end torque and dependable engine braking on the descents.

The Rest of the KRX Family Returns

Alongside the new TR models, the 2027 KRX lineup brings back the machines riders already know. The standard TERYX KRX 1000 and four-seat KRX4 1000 carry the 999cc parallel-twin, Showa piggyback shocks, and rigid frame with integrated ROPS. The two-seater comes in five trim packages and the four-seater in four, so there is a wide range to pick from.

The KRX 1000 eS and KRX4 1000 eS step up with Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension (KECS) running FOX 2.5 Live Valve Internal Bypass shocks, a seven-inch high-grade TFT color display, and a KQR sport roof. For riders who want a loaded build straight from the factory, the KRX 1000 BLACKOUT EDITION and KRX4 1000 BLACKOUT EDITION pack a Hifonics audio system, a WARN VRX 45 winch with 4,500 lb capacity, and a full K-Glow LED lighting setup, including a 38-inch roof light bar. The ROCK EDITION also returns to the family for 2027.

2027 MULE PRO Lineup

The MULE PRO has been a work-and-recreation staple for more than 30 years, and the 2027 range covers a lot of ground. It splits into full-size gas models (FXT, FX, FXR), diesel models (DX, DXT), and the mid-size MX. Every full-size MULE PRO rides on independent front and rear suspension with 8.7 inches of travel, and the entire lineup is backed by the Kawasaki STRONG 3-Year Limited Warranty.

At the top sits the FXT 1000 Platinum Ranch Edition in Metallic Deep Red, with leatherette seats, color-matched grille, self-leveling rear suspension, a 4,500 lb winch, and the convertible 3-to-6-passenger Trans Cab system. The FX 1000 HD Edition brings a tilting cargo bed with a switch-operated hydraulic lift and a 1,000 lb bed capacity. The compact FXR 1000 leans toward trail use with a 999cc engine and three-passenger seating. On the diesel side, the DX and DXT run a 993cc diesel with one-ton towing and EPS, ideal for ranches and job sites wanting a single fuel source. The mid-size MX family uses a 695cc single-cylinder with 42.7 lb-ft of torque, and the MX SE tops that group with a factory 3,000 lb winch and remote.

Owners can personalize any MULE PRO with over 90 Kawasaki Genuine Accessories, from A-arm guards and winch kits to bed lift kits, audio systems, and plow mounts, plus bundled utility and protection packages.
