The off-road world is buzzing with the arrival of the Segway Villain, a UTV that promises to redefine the off-roading experience. We at UTV Source had the unique opportunity to test drive this new player in the UTV scene. Here's our in-depth review and adventure with the Segway Villain.
First Impressions:
From the moment we laid eyes on the Segway Villain, we knew we were in for a treat. With its sleek design and impressive specs, the Villain beckoned us for a thrilling ride. Our team, led by Rick and Kyle, was handed the keys to two brand new Segways, and the adventure began.
Performance and Handling:
The Segway Villain boasts a powerful engine, but what truly stood out was its handling. Even on stock settings, the ride was comfortable, though we did feel the need for some shock adjustments. The visibility from the driver's seat was exceptional, offering clear sight lines over the dash, to the nose of the machine, and even to the tires. This enhanced visibility instilled confidence, allowing us to navigate the trails with ease. Note that both Villains had KMC wheels with upgraded Atturo X/T tires (black/green Villain) and EFX Sand Slingers (black Villain) for the test drive.

Power Modes:
Our initial test was in eco mode, which already delivered decent power. However, learning we could have set it to sport mode, we were eager to unleash the Villain's full potential. The difference was palpable, with the sport mode offering an exhilarating boost in performance.
Feedback from the Team:
The consensus among our team was clear: the Segway Villain is a game-changer. Its performance in various terrains, combined with its driver-friendly design, makes it a top contender in the UTV market. The Villain offers a balance of power, stability, and visibility that few UTVs can match, but wait - there's more...
Price Point and Features:
For its debut in the UTV industry, Segway has set a competitive price point of $16,799 to $19,799 based on added accessories. Considering the features it packs, including a touchscreen reminiscent of a Tesla dash and potential integrations like Apple CarPlay and Android, the Villain offers significant value for its price.
Final Thoughts:
The Segway Villain is more than just a UTV; it's a statement. For those new to the UTV world, it's an excellent entry point, offering reliability, performance, and a host of features at a competitive price. For seasoned off-roaders, it's a fresh experience, a machine that challenges and excites.
As we wrapped up our adventure, one thing was clear: the Segway Villain has set the bar high for future UTVs. We're excited to see where Segway takes this in the future, and we'll be right here, ready for the next adventure. Thanks to Gary, NW representative of Segway USA, for giving us to opportunity to take the 2 Villains on the trails for the day. Looking forward to seeing what else Segway has in store for the community.
